Ethical Guidelines

  • To foster competency and professionalism by providing standards and processes whereby members of the GCC-SL may be certified.
  • To communicate in an on-going, efficient and clear manner to all those served by the membership, trustees and the general public appropriate to chaplaincy ideals, standards and goals developed by the GCC-SL.
  • To develop through study, continuing education, and communication, awareness in the membership of the GCC-SL of the legal, social, and ethical issues affecting their physical and spiritual development.
  • To form a functional, cohesive and committed organization that will promote proper quality service delivery, care and support to chaplains nationally and internationally.
  • To continuously improve the capacity and quality of life of chaplains and potential chaplains and members of the general public.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate policies and programs that will address critical issues concerning christian chaplains in Sierra Leone.
  • To facilitate proper identification, documentation and monitoring of the survival, development, protection and participation for a holistic development.
  • To network and build a capacity of members as well as to partner with relevant bodies inside and outside Sierra Leone.
  • To protect and defend the rights of chaplains, potential chaplains and members of the public.
  • We campaign against terrorism, rape, child abuse and all forms of abuses.
  • And to establish skills acquisition and vocational programs for educational and economic development and empowerment.
  • To hold International Awards and programs in any part of the World, and to collaborate and partner with Local and International solution providers.
  • To utilize resources, knowledge, skills, manpower and training generated by GCCC – SL in the right direction and honestly serve the people with the fear and integrity of God at heart.
  • To identify and map out areas in chaplaincy to be developed and make them known to our local and internal partners.
  • To work with government, government departments and agencies, non-governmental organizations and other development partners in and out of the country moving towards our mission.
  • To search for other chaplain organisations globally who may show interest in the drive towards developing and expanding chaplaincy in our nation and connect / bring them to Sierra Leone to affiliate or work with us.
  • To train, certificate and license corps that would meaningfully help to contribute to the development of our nation and other nations as the case may be.
  • To deal amicably with people wanting to develop or contribute, expand and rebrand our chaplaincy organization to stand as a modern global chaplaincy organization.
  • To assist the poor, traumatised, homeless, disadvantaged, etc. and uplift their status especially in times of natural disasters, famines, etc.
  • To coordinate with organizations, agencies, government and government departments with similar aim and objectives and partner in our chaplaincy development drive.
  • To improve the standard of living of its members, their relatives, friends and communities.
